Today I was trying to adjust a responsive design to change its layout at the right width for specific devices (landscape on iPhone 5 and Nexus 4), and came across this wonderfully comprehensive table in the article Web Design for Mobiles and Tablets – Viewport Sizes.
These dimensions are in density-independent pixels (dp), or the width that the browser is reporting to the page (CSS device-width), not the actual pixels, which are much higher. Peter-Paul Koch has an excellent explanation of what these terms mean in his article A pixel is not a pixel is not a pixel.

I am impressed with your efforts to keep the earth green. I have driven small cars since 1972 to leave a smaller footprint and our larger car has been a diesel. I hope you are willing to ride with me to MHSA on Thursday.
